The first Polish School was open in 1951 at Sibson Camp near Peterborough. Sibson Camp was a place for "Displaced People" from Europe after World War II. In 1969 the Polish Community managed to buy a building on Stanground.  After some building works made in there it was officially open in 1970 as "Ex-Servicemans Club". Polish School moved into that building as well. There were some teachers who we should remember in that school: Mrs Jadwiga Stojakowska, Mrs Teresa Ambroziak. The "Ex-Servicemans Club" was called "Polish Club".

Teachers like Mrs Jadwiga Stojakowska, Mrs Teresa Ambroziak and others attempted to teach children Polish language, history and geography of Poland.

The Aim of the school was to maintain the Polish language, Polish culture and traditions. The Polish community gathered at the Club, they taught their own children, spent time together and organized various events.

Over many years everything has changed .... more and more Poles were coming to town and gradually the building was too small to accommodate and ensure the appropriate level of teaching.

Thomas Deacon Academy was a new premises for Polish School from October 2009 to December 2011.

In January 2012 Polish School moved to St. John Fisher School in Peterborough, Park Lane PE1 5JN.
